Loders Peugeot has a new home
On 1st August Loders Peugeot will be moving to its new premises on the Lynx West trading estate in Yeovil. One of the largest multi-franchise groups in the South West, Loders Motor Group has a 60 year history in the area and has represented Peugeot in Yeovil since 2008. The move to the new premises, which are larger and more modern than the current site on Sherborne road, and ideally placed for easy road access, is part of the Groups continued growth.
Loders Motor Group has recently appointed a new Operations Manager to its Group, Sam Patterson, and one of his first projects has been working to move Peugeot to its new home. Previously with Land Rover in Yeovil, Sam brings a wealth of over 19 years experience in the local motor industry with him to the role.
Sam Patterson Loders’ new Operations Manager comments: “I am delighted to have joined Loders, and to be making such positive steps in these first few months. It is great news that Loders Peugeot is able to offer local people more choice when it comes to vehicle purchase and an even higher standard of servicing by moving to larger premises.
The site is well equipped and very easy to access from the Lysander Road roundabout. Loders Motor Group is constantly taking strides to improve its offering in Yeovil despite economic conditions and this is yet another move in the right direction. We can’t wait to get started in our new home!”

Loders Approved Used Cars
| Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 - Wednesday, July 1st, 2009 | | Loders launches approved used car centre | |
Loders Motor Group is proud to announce the launch of Loders Approved, its new Approved Used Car Centre, on London Road, Dorchester, which will provide the largest selection of used cars in the area.
Alan Woodland, Loders Dealer Principal comments: “As one of the South West’s largest and most trusted Motor Groups, Loders takes a huge volume of quality, used cars in part exchange. With Loders Approved, for the first time our customers will have direct access to the very best of the vehicles that we receive. Importantly though, unlike buying privately, these used cars will all have been through a vigorous multi point examination by Loders expert technicians. In addition to this all cars purchased will come with a full Loders warranty.”
Loders Motor Group has seen a huge rise in the level of people looking to purchase approved used vehicles, and Loders Approved represents a positive step to adjust to the way in which the market is evolving.
Alan continues: “We understand that people are looking for the very best value at the moment and so we have responded with Loders Approved. All display vehicles are handpicked by Loders Used Cars Sales Manager Andrew Foster, and each one is fully examined twice before delivery to the customer. This means that whilst customers can save money by buying a used car, they can also drive away with the piece of mind that not only has the car been fully examined by Loders, they also have a full Loders warranty.”

Loders Sets A New Green Standard With Blue Lion
| Monday, September 29th, 2008 - Thursday, January 29th, 2009 | | New greener Peugeot range | |
The teams at Loders in Dorchester and Yeovil are helping customers identify the cleanest and most environmentally friendly vehicles in the Peugeot range, with the launch of Peugeot’s new Blue Lion standard. This new initiative has been developed by Peugeot, so customers can easily identify vehicles which will reduce their day-to-day running costs, emissions and waste. The choice includes models from the 107, 207 and 308 ranges, along with the compact 1007.
Alan Woodland, Dealer Principal at Loders in Dorchester, explains: “I have noticed that customers are becoming increasingly aware of the environmental impact of their car and are keen to curb their carbon tyre print and running costs. The Blue Lion branded vehicles significantly reduce the costs of motoring and customers have the choice of 50 models that have CO2 emissions of 130 g/km or under - so there really is something for everyone, whether you’re a young driver or need space for the family.”
In order to qualify for the standard, all Blue Lion vehicles must have CO2 emissions of 130 g/km or less, be made in an ISO 14001 certificated manufacturing plant and be 95% recyclable. Peugeot’s Blue Lion line-up not only drives down the environmental impact but also reduces the ongoing fuel and road tax costs, with highly desirable miles per gallon capabilities and many of the cars falling into the lowest vehicle excise duty band, which requires road tax of just £35.
The Blue Lion standard vehicles are available in a range of petrol and diesel engines and, therefore, customers can also enjoy the benefits of Peugeot's HDi diesel engine technology, which gives improved fuel economy and great driveability.

Model Businesses Share Real Drive And Passion For Fashion
| Tuesday, July 29th, 2008 - Monday, September 29th, 2008 | | Loders and Denners fashion show | |
Over 170 people supported two Yeovil businesses, Loders Audi and Denners Department Store, which joined forces for the first time to celebrate the best in both car and fashion design on Thursday 24th July. The launch event combined Audi’s summer collection, with a fashion show demonstrating Denners’ latest summer trends.
Alan Scrimgeour, Director of Loders Motor Group comments: “The teams at both Loders and Denners felt it was important to make a positive statement about business in the region at such a challenging time, and it was fantastic to see so many people from the local community turn out to support this event. I would like to thank Kevin Legg and the Denners team for all their hard work, and a special thanks also goes to Colin Male one of Loders’ Technicians and Amy Schafer our Service Coordinator for modelling at such short notice; due to unforeseen circumstances two of the Denners’ models had to pull out of the event and, very much in the spirit of the evening, Colin and Amy stepped onto the catwalk at the last minute.”
The evening gave guests the chance to view Loders Audi’s new A4 Avant, A3 Cabriolet, and R8 super car, alongside Denners’ models, showing off collections from Oasis, Warehouse and Peter Werth on the catwalk. After the Show, which was accompanied by drinks and canapés, guests enjoyed a buffet supper, whilst they waited for the result of the prize draw!
Kevin Legg, Denners Store Manager adds: “It was a delight to work with the team from Loders to make this event possible; it has been an absolute pleasure to be able to create an evening with a real difference, offering two very different yet exciting elements for both our guests to come and enjoy.”

New Wheels Mean More Work For Well Bean
| Tuesday, July 29th, 2008 - Monday, September 29th, 2008 | | Charity scheme receives Loders donation | |
Loders Motor Group has handed the keys to a brand new Toyota Hi-Ace Van to the Well Bean Project team, so it can support and engage with its community face-to-face, and reach people in even the remotest areas of Somerset. To overcome the Well Bean Project’s modest budget, Loders and Toyota Fleet UK donated £2000 to make the purchase of the vehicle possible.
Working in the Wincanton, Templecoombe, Henstridge, Bruton and Castle Cary area, the Well Bean Project is a food and health initiative that engages with families, schools and individuals to encourage wellbeing. Thanks to the support of Loders Motor Group, the scheme’s three outreach workers are now able to get out into the community, to introduce and encourage projects involving gardening, cooking, outdoor activities and healthy eating.
When Project Manager Sue Place from the Well Bean Project realised her team needed a reliable vehicle she went to see Rob Beldham, Loders Toyota Business Centre Manager. Rob explains: “When Sue first came to see me in April she knew the Well Bean team needed a van to assist them with their local projects, but as with all community initiatives, they had to operate within a very strict budget. Sue knew a Toyota Hi-Ace Van would fulfil all the team’s requirements; however the cost was beyond the budget available. At Loders, we are proud to support many local community initiatives and the Well Bean Project is something we wholeheartedly believed in. We were delighted to work with Toyota Fleet UK to donate £2000 to make the purchase possible, and wish the Well Bean team all the very best with its work.”
Sue comments: “The Well Bean Project is about reaching out to the community to help people learn more about the benefits of healthy eating, physical activity and good mental health. Our work is all based in rural areas and so demanded a reliable and durable vehicle. Thanks to Loders Motor Group and Toyota Fleet UK we are now able to engage with even more people in even more remote areas of our beautiful countryside.”

Jordanian Pilots Swap Wings For Wheels At Yeovilton
| Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 - Monday, September 29th, 2008 | | Loders Motor Group supplys the Jordanian Royal Air Force with their wheels | |
Loders Motor Group was delighted to supply the Jordanian Royal Air Force pilots with their wheels during the team’s 10-day stay in Yeovil for the RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day (Saturday 5th July). Due to severe weather conditions the expert pilots were unable to take off on the day, so Loders’ two seven-seater Volkswagen vehicles, a Caravelle and a Caddy Maxi, were even more valuable for the nine pilots who were mobile even when they were grounded!
The Jordanian pilots flew to Yeovilton from the South of France in their Extra 300 aircrafts in three hours, and were met by Brian Keene, the MD of Loders Motor Group and his team. Brian Keene comments: “I am very pleased that Loders Motor Group can lend its support to Yeovilton Air Base in this way. Our teams at Loders are committed to working with their local communities and providing vehicles to the Jordanians is just another part of our ongoing work with Yeovilton and the inspirational projects and events it coordinates. The Jordanians wowed the Yeovilton personnel on Thursday during their practice flight and it is a real shame the crowds weren’t able to enjoy the amazing display on Saturday. Although the strong winds meant the pilots were unable to show off their incredible display to the public, we were pleased to offer the Jordanians the chance to get out and about on the roads to see some of the many attractions the South West has to offer.”
Loders Motor Group also supports Yeovilton’s Royal Navy Historic Flight initiative, which gives people from near and far the unique opportunity to examine some of the world’s oldest planes up close, and watch highly experienced and talented pilots in action. At Yeovilton’s Historic Flight base, iconic planes, such as the Fairey Swordfish MK 2, are restored and re-built with the aim of keeping them up in the air. Loders has provided the Historic Flight team with a Toyota Land Cruiser in support of the many air shows at which they display during the season.

Loders Motor Group is delighted to announce that it has acquired the Peugeot Dealerships in Dorchester and Yeovil from the Olds Motor Group. The transaction also includes the Olds Motor Group Accident Repair business situated on the Grove Industrial Estate in Dorchester and the Dorchester Service Centre.
Brian Keene, Managing Director of Loders Motor Group, explains: “The purchase of Olds’ Peugeot is excellent news for Loders Motor Group. We are excited at the prospect of expanding our business and look forward to bringing the benefits of this acquisition to our customers and our team as a whole. The Accident Repair Centre and Service Centre will help us to deal with the increasing demand for this type of facility in the Dorchester area, whilst the Peugeot brand perfectly complements our existing range of Audi, Toyota, Volkswagen and Skoda vehicles.
“Olds and Loders are both family run businesses with a long history of motor retailing in the South West. Both companies can also boast a professional and experienced workforce with similar high standards of customer care. We really look forward to welcoming both Olds’ Peugeot customers and employees to Loders Motor Group.”
Sharon Old, Finance Director of the Olds Motor Group, comments: “It has been of the utmost importance to the Olds Motor Group that the Peugeot operations transfer to a local business with the same high values and strong foundations. Yeovil Company Leads The Way In Europe
| Thursday, January 24th, 2008 | | One year on, the one million pound milestone passed, five awards received, every monthly target met | |
and one brand new premises – Yeovil Trade Parts Specialist (TPS) centre is leading the way and celebrating a successful first year. One of the first trade outlets of its kind in Europe, Yeovil TPS (part of Loders Motor Group) was launched on 15th December 2006 by the Volkswagen Group UK, as an exciting development of Loders Volkswagen Trade Centre business at Houndstone Business Park.
Peter Marchant, TPS Manager at Yeovil TPS, comments: “It has been an incredible first 12 months for the team at Yeovil TPS. We were extremely privileged to be selected as one of Europe’s first TPS locations and it is great to see that the investment made here in Yeovil has translated into a revived parts service for independent repairers throughout our trading territory.”
The team of 14 staff at Yeovil TPS focuses on serving the needs of local independent repairers for Audi, SEAT, Skoda and Volkswagen passenger car and commercial vehicle parts. As the centre operates as an agency of Volkswagen Group UK, there is a larger stock of parts held locally than ever before and this ensures rapid delivery, which in many cases means on the same day the order is received.
Peter concludes: “We moved into our new premises at the beginning of December and now we have even greater capacity to store parts and have a greater depth of stock. We aim and succeed in providing exceptional customer service – that means the right part first time, answering telephone calls efficiently and having well trained staff who know what is expected of them. We will always strive for even better parts availability, more daily deliveries and importantly, even more competitive trade part prices to meet our customers’ needs. The message to our customers is that it’s business as usual – just even better.”
Yeovil TPS also made a clean sweep of picking up all the prizes in the recent TPS Extreme Pioneer Performance incentive scheme - the forerunner of a new incentive scheme for staff in the TPS network.
For more information about Yeovil TPS please call tel: 01935 477393 or visit its new premises at Yeovil TPS, Yeovil Trade Park, Merlin Road, Yeovil, Somerset, BA20 2EB. Loders Takes Top Three Spots At RNLI Raft Race… Again!
| Monday, November 5th, 2007 | | Loders took the top three spots at this year\'s Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Raft Race | |
Loders took the top three spots at this year's Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Raft Race held at Bridport in July, for the second year in a row. First across the finishing line was the team from Dorchester VW, closely followed by teams from Yeovil Audi and Yeovil ARC. Thousands of visitors turned up to see the hand built rafts race down the River Brit, which not only battled to keep afloat but also fought against water bombs and canons on the way to the finishing line.
The raft race attracted 16 raft teams from throughout the area and raised £2,500 for the RNLI. Each raft was built from scratch by the individual teams and spectators watched as Wallace and Gromit, Sharks and even teams dressed as babies rowed their way to the finishing line. The team from Dorchester VW rowed its way to victory in a striking red dual canoe ‘Rif Raft’, winning the Eric Hamlet Trophy, whilst Yeovil Audi ploughed through in single canoe ‘Sharky’ and Yeovil ARC in a replica car raft - after rescuing team members from the murky depths of the River Brit!
Fingers crossed we’ll make it a hat trick in 2008!
