Bob Blamey, a representative from the incentive scheme, commented on TPS Yeovil: “Staff really took the bull by the horns and as a result, finished in first place, not only in the overall competition, but also in the supplier-sponsored tactical competitions as well.”
The TPS team has also been visited by trade magazine, TPS Network News and a lengthy interview with Manager, Peter Marchant has been featured in Issue 4, out now! Here’s a snippet:

A Day In The Life Of… Ian Gill, Group Quality Manager
| Wednesday, October 31st, 2007 | | Ian has been in the motor trade for 25 years, and started with Loders seven and a half years ago as | |
Ian spent a huge amount of his time ensuring quality levels were met, became quite the expert and led Dorchester VW to a pass first time, a major achievement in the eyes of the Loders Group. Ian was then asked by Loder’s teams at Audi and Skoda to advise and guide them through their assessments.
With the broad understanding and knowledge Ian gathered through his experiences with VW, Audi and Skoda, the role of Group Quality Manager blossomed. Along with various manufacturer’s standards of quality, Loders now also has its own controls and Ian makes sure these are complied with by visiting our dealerships, Accident Repair Centres and workshops.
Twice a month, Ian has informal visits with managers at our After Sales workshops, to check aspects such as how customer property is being handled, how presentable staff members are and the productivity of the department. This is constructively fed back to the teams, and entered in to an After Sales league! On a more official basis, Ian also carries out a quarterly audit to review Loder’s standard of quality within the business, including sales, service and parts. In the most recent audit, Skoda scored the highest in the Group with 93% - much to the delight of Sean Pearce, Skoda’s Brand Manager!
Ian has been Group Quality Manager for nearly two years and his continual monitoring of standards plays a huge part in upholding the business’s great reputation and the quality service we are renowned for.

Welcoming New Faces To Loders
| Wednesday, October 31st, 2007 | | New Sales Administrator, Angela Hallissey, joined Dorchester Toyota in September. She has already h | |
Angela is working with her daughter, Joanna, for a charity called KIDS Worldwide, (Kids Integrated Development and Shelter), which seeks to improve the quality of life for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. They first came across the charity when Joanna’s husband, a Royal Marine Commando, went on his first tour and as a result, last year Joanna went to Ghana with the charity to teach at two schools.
With the help of family and friends, Angela and her daughter are now trying to raise funds as well as ‘know-how’ in order to ship 30 recycled computers out to schools in Ghana. If they succeed, MICROSOFT has promised to provide a computer, its software and necessary IT training for each and every school in Ghana.
With the help of the IT for Africa charity, Angela and Joanna already have the computers and over the next few weeks have meetings with various charities to ask their advice on how to get the goods out of the docks when they reach Ghana - this is their biggest hurdle. Now they need to raise £4000 to transport the computers to their destination.
Joanna won an award from the Lord Mayor for her report on the experience she had in Ghana, and on Tuesday 27 November, the mother - daughter team is attending an awards ceremony hosted by the Chairman and Trustees of the Lord Mayor's Anniversary Awards Trust at the Mansion House. Joanna will use her prize money for her air fare and will appeal during her awards speech for more money, computers and knowledge to be donated towards this cause.
If anyone would like to support this challenge please be in touch with Angela.
After three and a half years away, Sarah Sculthorpe re-joins Loders at Yeovil VW with even more experience. Sarah used to work at Yeovil Toyota and is pleased to be back working as Fleet Sales Specialist.

Loders Takes Top Three Spots At RNLI Raft Race… Again!
| Monday, November 5th, 2007 | | Loders took the top three spots at this year\'s Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Raft Race | |
Loders took the top three spots at this year's Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Raft Race held at Bridport in July, for the second year in a row. First across the finishing line was the team from Dorchester VW, closely followed by teams from Yeovil Audi and Yeovil ARC. Thousands of visitors turned up to see the hand built rafts race down the River Brit, which not only battled to keep afloat but also fought against water bombs and canons on the way to the finishing line.
The raft race attracted 16 raft teams from throughout the area and raised £2,500 for the RNLI. Each raft was built from scratch by the individual teams and spectators watched as Wallace and Gromit, Sharks and even teams dressed as babies rowed their way to the finishing line. The team from Dorchester VW rowed its way to victory in a striking red dual canoe ‘Rif Raft’, winning the Eric Hamlet Trophy, whilst Yeovil Audi ploughed through in single canoe ‘Sharky’ and Yeovil ARC in a replica car raft - after rescuing team members from the murky depths of the River Brit!
Fingers crossed we’ll make it a hat trick in 2008!

Yeovil Company Leads The Way In Europe
| Thursday, January 24th, 2008 | | One year on, the one million pound milestone passed, five awards received, every monthly target met | |
and one brand new premises – Yeovil Trade Parts Specialist (TPS) centre is leading the way and celebrating a successful first year. One of the first trade outlets of its kind in Europe, Yeovil TPS (part of Loders Motor Group) was launched on 15th December 2006 by the Volkswagen Group UK, as an exciting development of Loders Volkswagen Trade Centre business at Houndstone Business Park.
Peter Marchant, TPS Manager at Yeovil TPS, comments: “It has been an incredible first 12 months for the team at Yeovil TPS. We were extremely privileged to be selected as one of Europe’s first TPS locations and it is great to see that the investment made here in Yeovil has translated into a revived parts service for independent repairers throughout our trading territory.”
The team of 14 staff at Yeovil TPS focuses on serving the needs of local independent repairers for Audi, SEAT, Skoda and Volkswagen passenger car and commercial vehicle parts. As the centre operates as an agency of Volkswagen Group UK, there is a larger stock of parts held locally than ever before and this ensures rapid delivery, which in many cases means on the same day the order is received.
Peter concludes: “We moved into our new premises at the beginning of December and now we have even greater capacity to store parts and have a greater depth of stock. We aim and succeed in providing exceptional customer service – that means the right part first time, answering telephone calls efficiently and having well trained staff who know what is expected of them. We will always strive for even better parts availability, more daily deliveries and importantly, even more competitive trade part prices to meet our customers’ needs. The message to our customers is that it’s business as usual – just even better.”
Yeovil TPS also made a clean sweep of picking up all the prizes in the recent TPS Extreme Pioneer Performance incentive scheme - the forerunner of a new incentive scheme for staff in the TPS network.
For more information about Yeovil TPS please call tel: 01935 477393 or visit its new premises at Yeovil TPS, Yeovil Trade Park, Merlin Road, Yeovil, Somerset, BA20 2EB. Loders Toyota Dorchester has provided SailLaser at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy with a new powerful Toyota Hilux as part of its sponsorship for the neighbouring business’ Community Sailing Scheme. The strong and robust vehicle will cope easily with the high demands put on it by the SailLaser team, such as launching and recovering boats of all sizes and carrying equipment and boat parts to and from the water’s edge.
Jon Wells, Brand Manager for Loders Toyota Dorchester, explains: “We are extremely pleased to have built a strong association between Loders and SailLaser, and to be supporting local people and their leisure interests in the area. The Hilux is perfectly suited to SailLaser’s needs and we hope it will make life a little easier for the team!”
SailLaser is Laser’s flagship sailing centre and provides first class coaching for adults, children, beginners and experts. One of SailLaser’s key missions is to work with local trusts and schools to ensure that the Centre is accessible, inclusive and available to all people regardless of ability, age or experience.
Matt Bridge, Centre Manager at SailLaser comments: “Moving boats and equipment to and from the water’s edge is heavy work and the Hilux will undoubtedly provide us with the strength needed and ensure a high level of safety. By working alongside Loders Toyota Dorchester we hope to reinforce the message that the facilities and expertise we have here at SailLaser are as much for the local community as they are for the Olympics in 2012.
